Wales I am sure you would expect that there would be a variety
of tours and activities available in, on and around Jervis Bay,
well you are not wrong! As you read on you will see the choice
of water based activities available.

Dolphin
Watching
One of Jervis Bay’s main attractions, people
come from wide and far to see our resident bottle
nose dolphins play in the wild. With over 80 resident
dolphins calling Jervis Bay home the chances of
seeing them on a cruise is greater than 95%, and
if you are unlucky enough not to see them you
get a free return trip. You also have the chance
to spot other marine life including Seals, Penguins,
Sea Eagles and more.

Whale Watching – June to
November
Like Dolphins, people come to see the migrating Whales
from June to November while they are on their migration
path from the Antarctic through to Harvey Bay. Here
you have the chance to view these magnificent creatures
of the deep under Jervis Bay’s spectacular coastline.

Often regarded as the second most popular dive
site on the East coast of Australia second only to the Great
Barrier Reef, the unique geography of Jervis Bay allows for

With the protected waters in and around Jervis
Bay it provides for the perfect sea kayaking experience.
Whether you own your own kayak or would like to
paddle for the first time Jervis Bay Kayak Company
will service your needs. This pollution and noise
free mode of travel lets you explore at your own
pace and observe animal and marine life from the
closest possible distance. Providing both tours

Jervis Bay and it's surrounds offer a variety
of both beach and reef breaks suited to those

someone looking for the perfect barrel. With waves
both inside the bay and on the exposed coastline

surf school provides lessons and gear hire if
required or just come prepared.

The latest craze, kite surfing, is fast becoming
popular in Jervis Bay with the variety of beaches
and summer trade winds providing perfect conditions.
The most popular location for kite surfing is
just 50 metres from our front door. With lessons
available it’s a great opportunity to try something
new.

Boasting world records for land based game fishing
Jervis Bay offers all styles of fishing. Beach,
rock, deep sea, estuary and game fishing are all
available and there is a choice of fishing charter
vessels available or you can hire tinny and give
it a go yourself.

Bushwalking
Jervis Bay is surrounded by a variety of National
Parks, State Forests and Coastal Reserves providing
a range of walking conditions. In the area we
have Booderre National Park, Jervis Bay National
Park, Morton National Park (including the Buddawang
Wilderness Area) to name a few. If you are the
type for a gentle stroll or looking for an overnight
or extended trek we have something to suit.

Mountain
Biking
Jervis Bay is a great place for getting on a
bike. With kilometres of bike tracks running between
the many small villages of the area riding is
a great way to see the local scenery. For those
more serious there is an endless supply of fire
trails and single tracks running through the surrounding
National Parks. Bike hire is available for an
hourly rate or by the day.

Bush Tucker Tours
Barry’s Bush Tucker Tours is a great way to get an insight
into how life used to be living in a local aboriginal community.
Barry uses information passed down by the elders to educate you
on where food and medicine used to come from. Weather you want
to get into the details or just enjoy a guided walk and a lunch
feast this is a great way to get a feel for the area.
Horse
Riding
Enjoy a peaceful ride through the Australian bush on
a friendly horse. With horses to suit all levels of riding Valhalla
offers guided trail rides by the hour or day packages including
lunch.
Wildlife Spotting

In and around Jervis Bay you will find an abundance of Australia’s
native wildlife. Weather you are in the National Park or the
local village there is a good chance of spotting some of the
resident Kangaroos. There is also a variety of birds, some
of the most popular being the Rainbow Lorikeets, King Parrots
and Rosellas which you can get up close and personal with at
Greenpatch in Booderre National Park. |
